Chennai Flood Relief 2015

Chennai, a city of 9 million people on India's southeast coast, is reeling from some of the heaviest and deadliest rains in 100 years. Since October, flooding killed at least 300 people in the region, according to the National Disaster Response Force. About 28,000 people had to be rescued. The flooding knocked out government services, left people stranded and made small boats a commonplace sight in city streets. Massive relief efforts are under way by various organization, India Forum Inc., join hands with Tamil Nadu Foundation Inc, (www.tnfusa.org)  in support of these relief efforts. Therefore, IFI is requesting help from all well wishers as part of the emergency fundraising campaign. This could mobilize supporters quickly to begin relief efforts. Chennai Disaster Relief Fund raising event was held on  Saturday, December 12, 2015 between 5 PM to 8 PM at Sri Siva Vishnu Temple Auditoriam, 6905 Cipriano Rd, Lanham, MD 20706. 

Vibrant performances by range of performers have kept audience cheerful throughout the event. To  name a few are “Dhwani group” (film music), Kuchipudi Dance, Odyssy Dance Theater, Bollywood  Dance and other carnatic and light music and dance performances by Local talents. 

India Forun Inc., is proud to be part of organizing this Fund Raising Program in support of the noble cause and express it's solidarity along with other organizations SSVT,HACSI,HVIA thereby giving lifeline to victims of Chennai Floods.
